The Award in Team Leading is a concise qualification designed to give learners a basic knowledge of the various roles, functions and responsibilities of a team leader and the limits of their authority and accountability. The mandatory unit ˜Developing yourself as a team leader" is a good starting point for team/cell leaders who are new to their roles or for aspiring leaders who wish to gain a solid understanding of the principles and practicalities of team leading.

Entry Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements but participants will: - Normally be either practicing or aspiring team leaders with the opportunity to meet the assessment demands, and - Have a background that will make them benefit from the programme which is likely to be Level 1 key skills Literacy and Numeracy or their equivalent. - Right Track Training is able to provide support to learners that do not have this level of Literacy/Numeracy.

Course Outline:
Candidates will complete the following units:-
- Developing yourself as a Team Leader
- Motivating the team to work
- Using resources efficiently in the workplace
- Using information to solve problems
Assessment:
Candidate to write a reflective review (expected range 300-500 words) which would include background information on your organisation (in the organisation you have selected) and your role within it (or the team leader role you plan to use for the purpose of this reflective review)
Assessment criteria includes:-
- Responsibilities of a Team Leader
- Feedback on own performance
- Establishing trust
- Improving own performance
