At Right Track Training Solutions we offer a variety of courses to improve your skills in Literacy and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
ESOL is taught at Pre Entry, Entry level One, Entry level Two, Entry level Three, and Level One. These courses are part of the ESOL Skills for Life scheme and are specifically designed for those people whose first language is not English and for people who wish to develop and improve their literacy skills to a nationally recognised standard.
An initial assessment diagnostic test is conducted, to determine the student's level and, from the results, a learning programme is developed, tailored to individual needs.
The elements of the programme aim to improve Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing skills and provide a general understanding of English laws and British culture.

The course exercises are designed to give good practical advice on everyday matters, from visiting a medical practice and making an appointment to see a doctor or dentist to using public transport and finding work.
These practical exercises are taught in small groups, providing the students with an opportunity to participate in dialogue with each other in English.
At the end of the course an examination is taken, appropriate to the level of attainment by the learner, in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing skills and students can progress to the next level of the programme.
ESOL for Work is a nationally recognised qualification focusing on improving English language skills for the workplace, covering work-related language from finding the canteen to understanding health and safety infomation and using the appropriate tone and register to speak to employers and colleagues. This qualification is available at Entry Level 3 and Level 1.
Numeracy
We also deliver adult numeracy qualifications at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2 as part of the Skills for Life programme. Numeracy qualifications are designed to support young people and adults in numeracy and recognise your ability and potential. The qualification covers all areas of the National Adult Standards covering Numeracy and allows you to develop your skills in:
- calculating and using numbers in practical everyday situations.
- recognising and using shapes and measures in practical everyday situations.
- presenting and explaining results in practical everyday situations.
- develop your confidence in recognising and using numerical infomation in practical everyday situations,
- encourage progression by assisting in the development of the skills and knowledge which will help you to gain confidence and also improves your employment opportunities.
All the work completed will be aimed at meeting the learners needs and supporting development in numeracy.
